Police Seek Armed Suspect Wanted In 11 Queens Robberies

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for help finding a suspect wanted for 11 gunpoint robberies in Queens.

Authorities said in each of the robberies, which took place in Jamaica, Queens Village and St. Albans, the suspect -- identified as 28-year-old Darren Hicks -- approached victims and displayed a black semiautomatic handgun while demanding cash and property.

The incidents took place between July 3 and Aug. 2, when the suspect strike twice.

Police said Hicks has targeted mostly delivery trucks.

On Aug. 2, Hicks allegedly victimized a 37-year-old man unloading his 7 Up delivery truck outside the Key Food Supermarket on Jamaica Avenue at around 11:30 a.m.

Then just a half hour later, a 47-year-old man was targeted inside his Boar's Head delivery truck in front of the Rite Aid on Linden Boulevard, police said. Authorities said Hicks knocked on the window and demanded money before fleeing in a white sedan.

Hicks is described as approximately 5-foot-10 and between 150 and 180 pounds.
