NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police are looking to question a woman in connection with a baby girl who was found left behind a building in Queens earlier this week.

Authorities want to speak to Cathy Lu about the abandoned newborn found wrapped in a sheet and lying within a grassy area at the Woodside Houses around 11:40 p.m. Sunday.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the baby was determined to be just a few a hours old.

The 6-pound, 6-ounce baby was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Cathy Lu is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-557-TIPS (8477).

The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
