Country Star Keith Urban Reported To Have Signed On As 'American Idol' Judge!

Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson, Ryan Seacrest and Keith Urban?

According to theexaminer.com and several other sources, Keith Urban has signed on to fill one of the vacant judges’ chairs on American Idol.

Fresh off his stint as a judge on The Voice: Australia, he will now go head to head with fellow country star and judge of the American version of The VoiceBlake Shelton.

Rumors had been running rampant that the show wanted a country angle, with names such as Brad Paisley making the rounds, but in the end, and according to the report, it is indeed Urban.

The deal is reportedly in the ballpark of $3 to $4 million per year. While not chump change, the offer is definitely lower than Mariah Carey, who is slated to make nearly $18 million.

The changes to the upcoming season of the show come courtesy of the departures of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.

Other rumored judges that will be seated at the Season 12 table include Nicki Minaj and Enrique Iglesias, provoking yet another question - more judges this coming season?

American Idol will be back on FOX for a 12th season this coming January, albeit with a very different look to the judges table.
