Two cranes were holding the tractor-trailer that was partially hanging off the exit ramp at Interchange 14 in Newark.

Authorities have removed the driver from the truck, whose name has not yet been released.

State Police Sgt. 1st Class Gregory Williams said authorities are working to get the truck back on the ramp.

Williams says the tractor-trailer partially went off the ramp around 5:30 a.m. It's not yet known what caused the accident.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Traffic is still backed up for miles. The exit 14 ramp to the Newark Bay Extension Bridge remains closed during the investigation.

Drivers are advised to use exit 15.
