NEW YORK (AP) — Curtis Granderson is being held out of the New York Yankees’ lineup for the finale of a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles because of tendinitis in his right hamstring.

Manager Joe Girardi said Sunday that Granderson will miss a game or two. The center fielder was pulled after the second inning of Saturday’s 4-3 win. An MRI showed there was no strain or tear.

The team’s leading slugger with 34 homers and 79 RBIs joins first baseman Mark Teixeira and third baseman Alex Rodriguez on the bench. Teixeira has missed four games with a strained left calf and there is no timetable yet for his return.

A-Rod, out since breaking his left hand July 24, played his second rehabilitation game with Class-A Tampa on Saturday and went 0 for 4. Girardi indicated he could return as soon as Monday.
