Long Island Landlord Accused Of Burglarizing Tenant's Apartment

COMMACK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island landlord is accused of stealing cash and jewelry from her tenant's apartment.

The tenant called police on August 31 to her basement apartment at 12 Johnson Street in Commack to report the burglary, police said.

When responding officers noticed there was no forced entry, they interviewed homeowner Christine Georghakis, who admitted to detectives that she had used her key to get into the apartment, police said.

After getting into the apartment, police said Georghakis stole cash and jewelry that belonged to the victim.
