Police: NYC Parks Employee Fatally Stabbed By Fellow Worker After Altercation
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police said a man was fatally stabbed Tuesday in a Queens park after an apparent dispute.
The incident took place just after 3 p.m. on Fowler Avenue near the Al Oerter Recreational Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
The 31-year-old victim was stabbed by a 51-year-old suspect, according to authorities. Both were seasonal maintenance workers for the city’s Parks Department.
Authorities said the men were arguing on the job when the argument got physical and spilled outside around 3 p.m. near a soccer field.
A witness told 1010 WINS’ Sonia Rincon she saw one of the men bleeding and fall to the ground.
