Carrie Underwood's 'Blown Away' Goes Platinum
After spending six weeks at the top of Billboard Country Albums chart, superstar Carrie Underwood’s fourth album, Blown Away, has sold over 1 million copies, earning platinum status. She posted an announcement and photo about the achievement yesterday on her Facebook page.
The album's title track continues to climb the charts, and it's now Carrie’s 16th single to reach the Top 10, which is a new record for a female artist. Preceded by “Good Girl," the song is the second single released from Blown Away to reach Top 10 status.
Carrie Underwood kicks off the U.S and Canadian leg of her “Blown Away” tour this month. The first concert takes place September 14 in Manchester, New Hampshire.

In addition to touring, VH1 recently announced that Carrie Underwood will be featured in upcoming episodes of VH1 Unplugged (Oct. 2) and VH1 Behind the Music (Sept. 30). As Carrie told VH1 about the Unplugged appearance, “It’s really cool to have it really be all about the songs and the music and to just get and go and sing. It doesn’t need all the extra stuff sometimes.” During the Behind the Music segment, topics include her American Idol audition, the sudden fame that followed winning that program, and her romance and relationship with Nashville Predator husband Mike Fisher.
