The village board has contracted with a company called MobileNOW! to provide an app that'll allow drivers to pay parking meter fees using their mobile devices.

Drivers seem to like the idea.

"I guess if you're in a hurry, I guess it would work out well for that person," Bill told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs. "You know, with this busy life that we all lead, it's probably a good idea."

The only catch is that drivers will drivers will have to pay a 40-cent surcharge each time they use the app.

"If you're in a hurry, and have a busy life, it's probably worth the 40 cents," Bill said.

The new system, including new meters, is expected to be operational next month.
