WFAN's Craig Carton Set To Talk '50 Shades' On 'Katie'

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Get ready for "Fifty Shades of Craig."

E.L. James, author of the steamy "Fifty Shades" series, will join Katie Couric on Monday for what is being billed as James' "first major interview." And guess who will be providing the male perspective on Couric's new daytime talk show?

WFAN co-host Craig Carton.

Yep, Boomer Esiason's radio partner won't be debating sports on Monday afternoon. He'll be talking instead (check your local listings) about Anastasia Steele & Co.

Carton, who admittedly can't get enough of "Fifty Shades of Grey," can't wait to dish on the trilogy.

"It's fascinating to me because I hate her and I love her -- the author, E.L. -- at the same time," he told Couric on Monday morning. "She has proven what a bad lover I am. And she's concocted, for gals like yourself, this incredibly dopey notion that, that type of -- how do I put it? -- sexual opportunity; steamy, mad, passionate lovemaking is actually available to any of you!"

"Speak for yourself, Craig," Couric responded.

Couric said she was hoping for a "no-holds barred" conversation.

Well, Carton was the right choice.
