U.S. News And World Report: Fordham Has Most Expensive Room And Board

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Fordham University in the Bronx has been named as having the most expensive college room and board fees by U.S. News and World Report.

The magazine released its list of the top 10 priciest schools for room and board for the 2012-2013 school year on Tuesday.

Fordham was ranked number one. The school charges students $15,374 a year for a dorm room and dining hall meals, according to U.S. News and World Report.

Three other New York schools also made the top 10 list.

St. John's University in Queens came in second, charging $15,270 for food and lodging. SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse ranked sixth at $14,400 while Marymount Manhattan College came in last place at $14,228.

On average nationwide, students pay just over $9,000 a year for room and board.
