Finally! Time Warner Cable Strikes Deal To Carry NFL Network

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Rejoice, football fans!

The NFL Network is finally coming to Time Warner Cable.

In New York City, Time Warner customers had been left wanting as the NFL reached agreements with every other major cable company, including Cablevision, another long-standing holdout.

A multi-year deal was announced Friday afternoon. The RedZone Channel will also be available via Time Warner.

"We're delighted to have reached an agreement for NFL Network and NFL RedZone that provides a good value to our customers," Time Warner Cable executive vice president Melinda Witmer said in a statement. "The additional games this year and the proven appeal of NFL RedZone will certainly prove to be a draw for our customers. We look forward to a long and productive relationship with the NFL."

The NFL Network carries a slate of regular-season "Thursday Night Football" games and the debate-inducing "Top 100" program.

The Giants' Week 3 win over Carolina on Thursday was aired by the network. Its next matchup will feature Cleveland at Baltimore on Sept. 27.

The NFL Network and Redzone Channel will be available to many Time Warner subscribers on Sunday, with the full launch to be completed by Thursday.
