Stephon Marbury's Wife Reportedly In Talks To Join VH1's 'Basketball Wives'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Get ready for more Marbury in prime time.

Don't worry, Knicks fans -- Stephon Marbury isn't headed back to MSG. His wife, Tasha, is "in final talks" to star in season five of VH1's "Basketball Wives," according to TMZ.

Mrs. Starbury was previously approached for the inaugural season of "Basketball Wives," but her ex-NBA star husband put the kibosh on it, TMZ reported.

The show has featured Shaunie O'Neal, ex-wife of Shaquille O'Neal; Tami Roman, ex-wife of Kenny Anderson; Evelyn Lozada, Antoine Walker's former fiance; and Royce Reed, ex-girlfriend of Dwight Howard and mother his child.

Tasha Marbury, who married Stephon in 2002, was asked to take part in the reality series because "she's actually a basketball wife" and is friendly with other cast members, according to TMZ.

Stephon Marbury's career in New York was marred by lackluster play and coaching clashes. The Brooklyn-born guard led his Beijing Ducks to the Chinese Basketball Association title last season.
