B&C Morning Show: Jerry Updates A MNF Debacle; Yankees Win
With Ahmad Bradshaw cleared to practice, the obvious question was what to do with Andre Brown, who filled in admirable on Thursday night (20 carried, 113 yards & 2 TD’s). Craig says he would give Brown another Sunday night in Philadelphia, while Boomer thinks a healthy dose of both running backs would serve Big Blue well.
With all eyes on Seattle last night, as the Packers visited the Seahawks to wrap up Week 3 on the prime time’ stage of ‘Monday Night Football,’ it was the replacement referees that emerged as the top story, which is where Jerry Recco began his first update.
The Seahawks won the game 14-12 after a controversial call on the game’s final play. Afterwards we heard from Dan Fouts, who called the game on Westwood One – and said, in no uncertain terms, that the officials cost the Packers a victory.
Boomer & Craig certainly agreed with Fouts and went on to say that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell needs to address the fan base, to let everyone know that he is aware of the level of incompetence. Probably not gonna happen.
Craig was so upset that he pleaded with a lawyer to take his case, as he wants to file a class action lawsuit against the NFL. On top of all of that. some folks from the ‘Lingerie Football League’ are claiming that some referees they let got are now presiding over NFL games – which speaks volumes.
As far as the Jets are concerned, they will be with the services of their best player for the remainder of the season, as Darrelle Revis was diagnosed with a torn ACL. Craig downplayed the loss of Revis, calling Sanchez the only irreplaceable Jet. Boomer didn’t disagree with Craig’s take on Sanchez, but warned him not to underestimate the value of Revis.
Plus, the NFL hands down fines to John Fox and others – Bill Belichick likely to be added to the list, the Yankees down the Blue Jays 6-3 thanks to a monster game at the plate (and in the field) from Curtis Granderson and another solid pitching performance courtesy of the dependable lefty Andy Pettitte. The Yankees now hold a 1.5 lead over the Orioles in the AL East.
Before Jerry was able to sign off, Craig was sure to point out an error by the update maven, which occurred when he was updating the Yankees win. Jerry didn’t seem to care much for the criticism…
