Navy Reservist Romann Martin pulled into the Carmans Plaza Shopping Center right after the incident and said he saw the woman in a bloody shirt staggering.

"I pulled over and assisted the victim," Martin told WCBS 880's Alex Silverman.

"I just laid her down. She had four lacerations through her left wrist and two to her right side," said Martin.

Shopper John Scalesi said a man nearby had a six-inch knife protruding from his chest.

"He was inside the car," Scalesi told Silverman.

The victims were listed in serious condition at the hospital.

Nassau County police are investigating the stabbing incident.
