NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) — An unidentified man has been arrested by Suffolk County Police in connection with the hit and run death of a male pedestrian in Hauppauge, according to officials.

The man was killed shortly before 5 a.m. on Saturday near the intersection of Nesconset Highway and Route 111.

The driver of the vehicle was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.
