Father Joseph LaMorte told WCBS 880's Sophia Hall that he is trying to comfort the family, especially Palmer's two children, aged 13 and 16.

"In our world there is the presence of good and evil," LaMorte said. "Good will always triumph. We believe that God can do anything, and God can lift this burden and bring healing in time."

The children are staying with Palmer's parents. Palmer was estranged from her husband and also had a restraining order against him. She was living on the father-in-law's property, which is where the murder took place.
