NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) – New Haven police say an 11-year-old city boy who went missing Friday night has been found safe in New York City.

Police said on Sunday that William “C.J.” Pagan was found in the Bronx. Authorities say he apparently climbed out of his window at his home Friday night and took a train to New York.

Officer David Hartman says police officials planned to bring the boy back home Sunday afternoon.

State police issued a silver alert for the boy Saturday morning, and New Haven police searched locations across the city.

It’s not clear why the boy ran away or where exactly he went.
