FARMINGVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – Police on Long Island are searching for a man who they said stole a woman’s purse by reaching through the drive-thru window of a Suffolk County Burger King last month.

It happened just after 11 p.m. on Sept. 1 at the Burger King on North Ocean Avenue in Farmingville.

The suspect came up to the drive-thru window, reached in and took an employee’s purse off a coat hook that was hanging inside, police said.

The suspect is described by police as a white male in his late teens or early 20s with dark hair.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
