His new album “Free The Music” drops Tuesday – and the crooner stopped by The Couch to talk to us about shaking up the country charts.
The record experiments with a lot of different styles.
“Growing up I always wanted to be a singer-songwriter but when I had the opportunity be a producer it kind of gave me a different angle to start looking at things,” Niemann said.
The country star says he writes what he knows.
“Some may listen to this album and think I don’t know anything,” he joked. “But I will tell you, every single note on this album is meant to be.”
Of course, we couldn’t let him leave without asking him to perform his breakout hit “Lover, Lover” from his 2010 debut album.
