Garth Brooks To End His Las Vegas Residency This November–Is A Full Concert Tour His Next Move?

It’s been a long, sweet (and we presume lucrative) run, but country megastar Garth Brooks is finally going to finish his three-year-long residency at the Wynn casino in Las Vegas.

The final date for Garth’s stripped-down show at Wynn Las Vegas is November 17 (so if you want tickets, you’d better get ‘em quick).

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Wynn,” said Brooks in a statement. “(Steve) Wynn told me that the Wynn audiences were some of the best in the world and he was right.” Brooks goes on to call Wynn the “best boss I have ever worked for.”

Wynn had kind words for Garth, as well, issuing his own statement. “I’ve never stopped being amazed at Garth’s talent, nor have I ever stopped admiring the wonderful balance that he has maintained as a father and a superstar. He is, to me, the rarest of all combinations: incredibly gifted and a man of great character.”

The show was originally predicted to run closer to five years, so ending it after only three seems like cutting it short. But truth is, there was no official end date set.

Why, then, is it ending now? Fans can only speculate at this point. But one good point to ponder is Garth’s recent statement that he could very well hit the road again.

“I’d love to tour again with Miss [Trisha] Yearwood and have no guilt,” Brooks said earlier this summer during a press conference at the Calgary Stampede, which he famously sold out in less than one minute. But, he continued, “I’m still two years away.” That’s because, he explained, his retreat from the road has always been about focusing on raising his kids. But, he said at the time, “Our youngest is a junior in senior high school now,” so if “everything goes well” then he would “love to tour again.” (Trisha has also hinted at a tour with Garth.)

Aside from the Wynn shows, and the Calgary performance, Garth performed as part of the Teachers Rock! TV special this past August. He was also inducted earlier this year into the esteemed Country Music Hall of Fame.
