ROBINSVILLE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - The effects of Wednesday's dump truck crash into an I-195 overpass near exit 7A on the New Jersey Turnpike are still being felt.

The crash left the driver dead and the overpass damaged.

While the eastbound lanes of I-195 are open, there is only one westbound lane getting by over the Turnpike.

So, delays are to be expected for about eight weeks, when the new overpass, which was already under construction, is expected to be ready, according to New Jersey DOT spokesperson Joe Dee.

EXTRA: Check Local Traffic

"Unfortunately 195 is the major east-west corridor in central New Jersey," he told WCBS 880 reporter Levon Putney.

He says it's tough to get around it, as traffic jams are showing, but he did say drivers can veer off exits for County Routes 524 and 526 to get around the backup as much as possible.
