New Jersey Man Pleads Not Guilty To Possessing 46,000 Child Porn Images

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A Northern New Jersey man could face 20 years in prison, after federal authorities charged him with possessing more than 46,000 images of child pornography – including nearly 1,000 that involved infants or toddlers.

Khalil Survey, 39, of Lake Hiawatha, N.J., pleaded not guilty before New Jersey U.S. District Judge William H. Walls Wednesday, his attorney told The Associated Press. He is charged with one count each of possessing and distributing child pornography.

In August of last year, special agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigation division executed a search warrant on Survey's home, and took his computer, iPhone and several storage drives.

They found a total of 46,353 images of child sexual abuse, including 983 that showed infants or toddlers, and 783 showing sadomasochistic abuse, prosecutors said.

Survey's iPhone showed screen grabs of himself downloading what appeared to be child pornography on a peer-to-peer network through a desktop computer, prosecutors said.

Survey was unemployed and was studying at the County College of Morris in Randolph, N.J., at the time of his arrest.
