Manhattan Parents Welcome Son Born At 2:34 A.M. On 10/11/12

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - It's a lucky day for a baby boy and his parents.

Little Ethan Zachary Mosca was born at 2:34 a.m. on Oct. 11, 2012, or 10/11/12, at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Lots of people planned their weddings to coincide with the day, hoping it will bring luck.

The doctor who delivered the lucky bundle of joy also delivered Ethan's two older siblings.

"Unexpectedly, the baby had to come out early this morning and it just turned out, what a coincidence that not only was it on 10/11/12 but that delivery time was 2:34," said Robin Kalish, the Director of Clinical Maternal Fetal Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. "I told them maybe they should play the lottery because you never know, maybe it's a lucky day for them."

Ethan's mom said her youngest child was stubborn and apparently wanted to be born two weeks early, on a lucky day.

"Baby Ethan Zachary was scheduled for C-section later this month but the baby had a mind of his own and decided to be lucky and be born on 10/11/12," Maya Mosca told WCBS 880. "My remarkable son."

Mosca said she is not taking the doctor's advice to play the lottery just yet.

"I don't know if it means anything, I just know it will be easier for Ethan one day to remember his birthday and his time, 10-11-12," Mosca told 1010 WINS.

Ethan weighed in a six pounds 13 ounces and measured 19 inches long. He has lots of dark hair, Mosca told WCBS 880.

"I said 'oh, today's 10/11/12' and then my husband said 'yeah, he was born at 2:34, 2-3-4,'...we couldn't shoot for that, it just happened randomly," Mosca told 1010 WINS.

Mother and baby are both doing well.

The next lucky day comes in less than two months on Dec. 12, 2012 - or 12/12/12.
