Hotel guests and workers were shaken.

One man was partying with friends in Room 204, and he could not believe what he saw – a woman below outside Room 104 was screaming. He said it looked as though she was begging for her life, but he shot her twice.

"We heard like four or five gunshots, and then we all look out the window and there's a lady standing there, and then he shoots her once, and shoots her again, and she goes down on the ground," he said.

He said the woman, later identified as Tracy Bennett, 38, of Elmont, fell to the ground and died.

A woman who was partying with the man in Room 204 added: "All I heard was the gunshots. We were quiet. We were freaking out."

The body of a man described as heavy-set was found outside the main office of the motel. The Fire Department said he was shot in the head.

The man was later identified as Wayne Hamilton, 50, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Blood seemed to be splattered everywhere.

Police are not sure of the relationship between Bennett and Hamilton.
