Actress Taryn Manning Arrested For Assault At Chelsea Hotel

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Actress Taryn Manning has been charged with assault for allegedly attacking and choking her personal assistant at a Chelsea hotel room, prosecutors said.

Manning was locked up for more than 24 hours before she was released and arraigned on Friday.

Prosecutors said Manning, 33, assaulted her assistant Holliann Hartman at the Dream Hotel.

Manning's lawyer said the two got into a confrontation but there was no assault. Joseph Tacopina called the incident a "little misunderstanding."

The Dream Hotel is where fellow actress Lindsay Lohan was arrested for allegedly clipping a pedestrian with her car last month.

Manning is best known for playing Eminem's ex-girlfriend in the 2002 movie "8 Mile."

Manning is due back in court on Nov. 13.
