NYPD Names Suspect In Fatal Bronx Motel Shootings

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Police have identified the suspect in a double murder at a Bronx motel.

The NYPD is searching for Joseph Kernizan, 42, for the homicides. Kernizan is described as 5'5" tall and 220 pounds.

Police said the shooting happened just after 3 a.m. Saturday at the Holiday Motel on the New England Thruway in Eastchester.

The victims have been identified as Tracy Bennett, 38, of Elmont on Long Island and Wayne Hamilton, 50, of Milwaukee.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police are not sure of the relationship between Bennett and Hamilton.
