PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Rutgers’ outside linebacker Khaseem Greene has been named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week.
Greene was honored for his performance in the Scarlett Knights’ 23-15 win over Syracuse on Saturday. The fifth-year senior recorded 14 tackles and 1.5 sacks, forced three fumbles and also had an interception.
Greene is the third Rutgers player ever honored by the Walter Camp Foundation with one of its weekly national awards. Running back Ray Rice and defensive tackle Ramel Meekins both earned awards during the 2006 season.
