Construction began on the Legoland Discovery Center Westchester at the Ridge Hill Mall in Yonkers. It will be one of five such centers across the country.

But it’s about more than just little plastic bricks.

If legal challenges and a corruption scandal gave Ridge Hill a black eye, Mayor Mike Spano said thinks it’s healed.

The center should be open by next spring.
