Before last night’s ALCS Game 4 between the Yankees and the Tigers was delayed – and eventually postponed – by rain, Alex Rodriguez found himself destined for the bench for the second straight game.

Boomer & Craig spent the majority of today’s show open talking about the ongoing A-Rod ‘soap opera’ — which now includes reports that the Yanks have had lighthearted talks with the Marlins about unloading the once-feared slugger – rumors Craig quickly dispelled.

With the rain out, the Yanks will be back in action this afternoon in Detroit at 4 p.m. and CC Sabathia will get the start.  Craig argued that the rain out actually benefits the Yankees, giving them an extra days’ rest for Game 5.  The other side of the coin is that if the Yankees somehow manage to get the series to a Game 7, CC will only be on two days’ rest, rendering him unavailable to pitch in any capacity.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves though, the Yanks have a lot of work to do if they have plans of bringing this thing back to the Bronx Sunday night — but Craig is somewhat confident they will find a way to get it done, beginning tonight with the ‘hefty lefty’ on the hill…
