NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Mark Sanchez is a bachelor once again.

The Jets’ quarterback and actress Eva Longoria have officially split, Sanchez’s rep confirmed to Us Weekly.

“Mark adores and respects Eva,” Sanchez’s spokesman said. “It really was about scheduling more than anything else. They will remain close friends.”

Apparently the former first-round pick isn’t taking the breakup to hard. The 25-year-old was seen “flirting and dancing with some blond” at the Darby Downstairs nightclub on W. 14th St., according to the New York Daily News.

The couple was together for three months, but the two parted ways because of “the age difference,” according to the newspaper. Longoria, 37, divorced from actor Tyler Christopher before marrying NBA superstar Tony Parker in 2007. Longoria and Parker divorced in 2011.

She’s more ‘Hollywood’ than he is,” an insider said, according to the Daily News. “Her people are always around, and (Mark) didn’t like that.”

The insider also revealed that the former Golden Globe-nominated actress’ focus on philanthropy played a part in the split.

Gang Green’s field general has been linked to actresses Hayden Panettiere and Jamie-Lynn Sigler, as well as Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Upton.

Sanchez had one of his best games of the season this past Sunday in the Jets’ loss to the division-rival Patriots. The fourth-year player completed 28 of 41 passes for 328 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

He’s struggled overall this season, however, completing 53.2 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Stay focused on Miami, Mark. The Jets can’t afford to go 3-5. Offer your thoughts and comments in the section below…
