‘Moustache Movember’ Month Aims To Raise Awareness For Prostate Cancer
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — You may notice a lot of guys rocking moustaches next month – and it’s not just an overwhelming desire to pay tribute to Tom Selleck and Keith Hernandez. It’s actually for a great cause.
“Movember” is the global initiative to raise awareness for prostate cancer.
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of mens faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo’s, these men raise vital awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.
Once registered at movember.com, men start “Movember 1st” clean shaven. For the rest of the month, these Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery.
But facial air demands a certain technique. Adam Garone, co-founder of the Movember movement, stopped by along with barber Luis Cedeno to demonstrate the crafting of a stylish ‘stache.
