Who Will Taylor Swift Vote For This Election?

Some country singers, like Hank Williams, Jr., make no secret about their politic stances. Others, however, such as Taylor Swift, have been completely quiet.

So has Taylor been following the presidential campaigns? And does she know whom she will vote for?

“I follow it, and I try to keep myself as educated and informed as possible,” said Taylor in an interview with Time. “But I don’t talk about politics because it might influence other people. And I don’t think that I know enough yet in life to be telling people who to vote for.”

To avoid influencing others' decisions, Taylor has declined to state who she supports, and it looks like she might miss the election completely, which is on November 6.

“I’m going to be out of the country,” revealed Taylor, “so I’ll have to get a special form, I think.”

Besides being quiet on politics, she’s also quiet about the meaning of her songs. Sure, we can speculate which ex-boyfriend is the target of her latest hit, but Taylor says “I let people fill in the blanks on their own.”

“If they want to think about their ex, that’s fine,” added Taylor. “If they want to think about maybe who one of my exes is, then that’s fine. And it might not be right, because I’m the only one who knows what these songs are really about. It’s the one shred of privacy I have in the matter.”

She may be a worldwide phenomenon, but she isn’t an open book, and when it comes to privacy, she’s keeping what she can.

Taylor Swift's fourth album, Red, was released Oct. 22.
