Carrie Underwood Duets With Aerosmith On Their New Album 'Music From Another Dimension!'

It all started with their performance on a special Super Bowl edition of CMT Crossroads Live in February. And now it has spawned a full-fledged collaboration!

Aerosmith's Music From Another Dimension!, the veteran rock group's 15th studio album, hit stores today. And among the tracks on that collection is a song that features lead singer Steven Tyler collaborating with none other than country music sweetheart Carrie Underwood.

The former American Idol alums (judge Tyler and contestant Underwood) sing together on "Can't Stop Loving You," an original song written by Tyler and frequent Aerosmith collaborator Marti Frederiksen.

When first trying it out in the recording studio "I sang it a little country," Tyler told Yahoo! Music, describing how the collaboraation came to be. "And one of the guys in the band said, 'You know what, you need to re-sing it, because you're singing it too country,' and I said, 'Well, that's how I wrote it.'" That led to a suggestion of getting an actual country singer onto the recording, which led to Carrie--who happened to be in L.A. at the time.

"She sang on it and it's just perfect," Tyler explained. "It's one of those moments that just is. And because she did, will it be a hit? Positively. And it's not a bad song. That's pretty cool, right?"

The connection between Aerosmith and country music, by the way, goes even deeper, because it turns out that the song's cowriter, Marti Frederiksen, is also no stranger to the genre.

In addition to working with some big-name rock bands, Marti has also worked as a producer and/or writer with such artists as Faith Hill, Sara Evans, Sheryl Crow, Rascal Flatts, and, yes, Carrie Underwood.

In fact, Marti cowrote two songs on Carrie's Play On album, "Undo It" and "Mama's Song."

So what you think: Is Aerosmith ready to make the move to country music like Bon Jovi?
