82-Year-Old Man Struck, Killed By National Guard Vehicle In Chinatown

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An 82-year-old Queens man was struck and killed by a National Guard vehicle in Manhattan on Tuesday, police said.

Kwok Fu was crossing Canal Street near Centre Street in Chinatown around 1:25 p.m. when he was struck, police said.

Fu was taken to New York Downtown Hospital where he later died.

Police said the driver remained at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

The National Guard is in New York to help with post-Sandy relief efforts.
