NYPD Investigating 2 Unrelated Incidents Of Sex Attacks Against Young Girls

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are investigating after two young girls were sexually assaulted in separate incidents in Manhattan and Queens.

The first one happened back on Oct. 25 in Chinatown. Around 4 p.m., police said a man followed a 10-year-old girl into her apartment building and groped her.

The suspect, who was seen on surveillance video, is a heavy-set man who was last seen wearing blue jeans, white sneakers, a black jacket and a Yankees baseball hat, police said.

In an unrelated incident, a 12-year-old girl in Queens was attacked on Tuesday around 2 p.m. when a man came up from behind and sexually abused her, police said. The suspect then took off.

Police described him as being 20 to 30 years old with acne scarring. He was last seen wearing sunglasses, a black and white patterned hat, black-hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
