Songwriter Pens Song ‘Hurricane’ To Benefit Sandy Victims

Megastorm Sandy

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – For one artist, the pain and loss of Superstorm Sandy translated into a tribute for the thousands who lost so much.

Sarah Peacock is a singer-songwriter from New Mexico. She was in New Jersey to perform just as Sandy hit. While still stranded by the storm, she was inspired to write the song, “Hurricane.”

The tune has not yet been recorded, but when it is, a portion of the proceeds will go to recovery efforts.

She hit The Couch to perform the aptly-titled song. Watch her interview and performance below.
