Congratulations are in order for Love & Theft’s Eric Gunderson and his wife Emily. That’s because the couple just revealed Emily is 13 weeks pregnant.

“Emily and I are so excited to announce that we will be having our first child on May 18th of next year,” Eric wrote on the Love and Theft website. “I am so thrilled and know that my beautiful wife will be the most amazing mother.”

“I’m beyond excited to share another journey through life with my best friend and husband,” said Emily in an interview with Taste of Country. “I pray not only for a healthy baby, but for a baby that is as talented in music as his sweet and handsome father!”

The stoked father-to-be added, “I’m pretty excited. I’ve wanted to be a father forever, and now I feel like we’re in a place in our career where it won’t be the most nerve-wracking thing ever. I feel like I can support a family now. It will be good. We’re really excited.”

In another few weeks the couple will find out if they are having a boy or girl, and although the singer is hoping for a boy, he wouldn’t be heartbroken to have a little girl.

“Obviously, I’m just hoping for a healthy baby,” said Eric. “But I was the oldest in my family and I was a boy…I think it was cool for my sister to always have an older brother. I think I’d like to have a boy first and then a little girl, but I’ll take whatever I get!”

Taking whatever he can get, the singer remains on tour, waiting to find out if his “Angel Eyes” baby will be a boy or girl.
