NEW YORK (WFAN) – You’ve never heard “Silence of the Lambs” quite like this.
WFAN co-hosts Craig Carton and Boomer Esiason have been known to poke fun at the unusual and sometimes awkward vocal delivery of Brook Lopez, a famous scene from “Silence” often mimicked in the Nets center’s deep timbre.
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. On Friday, Lopez joined Boomer and Carton in-studio and proved to be a great sport by playing the part of Jame “Buffalo Bill” Gumb.
Yes, he placed “the lotion in the basket.”
“I’m not ready,” said Lopez. Luckily, Boomer was there with the assist; a four-word pep talk: “You can do this.”
And away they went:
Not to be outdone, producer Al Dukes played the part of a frightened Catherine Martin, held captive by Buffalo Bill.
When told he could have stumbled upon a new career, Lopez responded, “I don’t know about that.”
Come on, Brook. That was radio gold.
And yes, he said all the right things about the 5-2 Nets, his new contract, the trade talks with Orlando and Brooklyn’s rivalry with the Knicks.
