Some S.I. Students Learn Their SAT Answer Sheets Have Been Lost

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Several Staten Island high school students already dealing with losses from Superstorm Sandy are getting more bad news.

A number of seniors from St. Joseph by-the-Sea in Annadale will have to retake the SATs because their answer sheets have been lost, 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reported.

"The College Board is unable to report the scores of the SAT test they just took," said school principal Father Michael Reilly.

Making matters worse, the board is unable to provide affected students with priority seating at the next scheduled test, posing a problem for those seeking to apply for early decision, Reilly said.

Guidance counselors will be calling students' colleges of choice to explain the situation and request special consideration, Baumgarten reported.

Students took the exam at a different school so Reilly said it is unclear whether the testing site or College Board lost the sheets.
