Report: Day Care Center Shut Down After 2-Month-Old Girl Dies

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A home day care center in Queens has been shut down by the city, after a 2-month-old girl was found dead there this weekend, according to a published report.

At 8:44 a.m. Saturday, police came to 92-45 55th Ave. in the Elmhurst section of Queens to find a 2-month-old girl unresponsive and unconscious.

Paramedics took the girl – Jennifer Zheng of Elmhurst, Queens, to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The New York City Medical Examiner's office was to determine the cause of death. Autopsy results were unavailable Sunday afternoon.

DNAInfo reported Saturday that a day care center was operating from the residence where Jennifer was found dead. A vacate order from the Department of Buildings was placed on the front door Saturday, ruling that "conditions in this premises are imminently perilous to life," DNAINfo reported.

A hand-written note at the bottom said the second and third floods needed to be evacuated, including a day care center, DNAInfo reported.
