Holiday Shopping: Tips To Rock Cyber Monday

NEW YORK (WLNY) -- With Thanksgiving behind us and the holiday frenzy in full swing, Bridget Carey, senior editor of CNET.com, visited The Couch to give us some Cyber Monday tips.

According to Carey, the big gadgets folks will be shopping for are tablets - the iPad mini and the Google Nexus 7.

Websites like CyberMonday.com, PriceGrabber.com, RetailMeNot.com and apps like TGI Cyber Monday will help you find the best deals.

Tips to rock Cyber Monday:

Don't shop at work. Even if your boss isn't in sight, you may still be monitored about your online activity, so avoid shopping on the clock altogether.

Look for secure websites - In the address bar of your browser, you'll see a little padlock appear before the "http" in the web address if it's safe to enter your credit card info. Stick to sites you know.

Set up a shopping profile with website you know you'll be using. You have to act fast. If you know you're going to be hunting for a deal, set up a profile with the website you're shopping with. Just because an item is in your virtual "shopping cart," it isn't yours until you fully check out.

Start shopping early. With deals on free shipping and plenty of new items on the market, products will go fast. Start shopping early.
