NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police warn Brooklyn’s Prospect Park is a growing robbery hot spot.

Robberies have more than doubled over the past year at Brooklyn’s largest green space, the New York Post reported. In the same time period, Central Park saw a 13 percent drop in robberies, according to police.

Since the start of the year, there have been 17 robberies in Prospect Park, compared with the same time in 2011, the Post reported.

Central Park has had 13 reported robberies this year, down from 15 in 2011.

No murders were reported in either park in 2012, though rapes were reported in Central Park.
