New Start-Up, Backed By Winklevoss Twins, Wants To Revolutionize Online Shopping

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, the twins famous for the face-off over Facebook, have moved on to other ventures.

They're investors in a new online shopping tool called Hukkster.

The site works similarly to Pinterest. Find a product you like when shopping online and "Hukk" it, via a button in your browser (like the "pin" button). That product information is stored at hukkster.com, where you can view, track and purchase an item at any time.

When the product goes on sale (or if there's a relevant coupon code or blanket promotion) you will receive a notification via email or text message.

Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss hit The Couch on Tuesday, alongside Hukkster founders Erica Bell and Katie Finnegan.

The ladies had the idea for the start-up when they got sick of the way online shopping worked.

"We were just commiserating over what the current marketplace was," said Finnegan. "It was just inefficient. There werw too many emails, and we didn't have time to sort through all of them.  [Hukkster] was built from a users perspective."

But it's not just for the girls.

"Even guys can benefit from Hukkster," Cameron Winklevoss said.

"We try to find companies that are sort of solving problems in a way, and Hukkster kind of fit that very quickly in our minds, also companies that we can work with strategically and operationally, and help build the company as opposed to just bringing capital to the table."
