NYPD Sergeant Charged With Punching Someone While Off Duty

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A New York City police sergeant has been charged with assault, reportedly after she punched someone in the face while off duty on the Lower East Side.

NYPD Sgt. Besemah Rogers, 42, was arrested on the Lower East Side Tuesday and charged with assault, police said.

Police told DNAInfo Rogers got into an argument with another person while off duty and punched that person in the face.

Rogers is a sergeant in a precinct in Brooklyn, police told DNAInfo.
