Cops: Woman Fought Off Would Be Rapist In Harlem

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect in connection with an attempted rape in Harlem.

Early Saturday morning a 24-year-old woman was followed into her apartment building by a black male in his early thirties. Once inside he attempted to rape the woman, but was fought off, according to authorities. The man fled the scene, and the victim refused medical attention.

A surveillance video shows the suspect as being 5'9" with blue jeans, black boots, and a black jacket with a fur-trimmed hood.
