Large Amounts Of Guns, Coke, And Cash Seized During Friday Night Raid In Newark

NEWARK,NJ(CBSNewYork) -- More than $100,000 worth of cocaine, eight firearms, and over $60,000 in U.S. currency was seized during a raid on a building in Newark on Friday night, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

A team made up of detectives from the Newark Police department along with members of Essex County's Viper Unit collaborated to conduct the raid in the 500-block of South 11th street.

Authorities arrested Jamiyl Sha'Rah Crapps, 36, of Hillside and Altarik Rashea Mack, 36, of Newark during the raid.

Both suspects have been charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute, multiple counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm while committing a narcotics offense.

Crapps and Mack are currently in custody at the Essex County Correctional Facility,  pending a court appearance. Bail has been set at $400,000 for Crapps and $150,000 for Mack.
