LL Cool J, Taylor Swift To Host Grammy Nominations Concert In Nashville

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A veteran of the music scene will be joined by a young superstar to host the evening which kicks off the road to music’s biggest night.

LL Cool J, who has hosted the Grammy Nominations Concert Live! each year since its inception five years ago. Taylor Swift co-hosted the first Grammy nominations special with LL Cool J in 2008. She’ll be by his side again this year as the concert broadcasts from Nashville, the city Swift calls home.

Headlining this year’s concert will be singer-songwriter Janelle Monae, who will perform with FUN. Additionally, Sheryl Crow, a 9-time Grammy winner, will be among the presenters. She is joined by country group Little Big Town and rockers The Lumineers.

Broadcasting from Music City means there will be quite a bit of country twang to the show. Luke Bryan and Hunter Hayes will both be performing. Additionally, The Who, The Band Perry and Dierks Bentley will do a special tribute to genre legend Johnny Cash.

Maroon 5 and Ne-Yo will also be performing during the broadcast.

Last year’s broadcast of the nominations special helped lead to increased ratings for the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards, which attracted 39.9 million viewers, the largest GRAMMY audience since 1984 and the second largest in history. The broadcast was also the biggest social event in the history of television at that time, drawing 13 million social media comments, with the conversation on Twitter reaching a record high at 160,341 tweets per minute during the live broadcast.

The road to Music’s Biggest Night begins with The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live! and culminates with the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards, live from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 10 and broadcast on CBS.
