Police Search For Suspect Who Raped Woman In Bronx Apartment Building
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police Monday afternoon were searching for a suspect who raped a woman in a stairwell in the South Bronx.
The rape happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in a building near 143rd Street and Morris Avenue, in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, police said.
The suspect followed the victim, a 21-year-old woman, into the building and forced her into a stairwell, where he raped her, police said.
The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a bump on his left cheek.
He was last seen wearing black sweat pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, and a Yankees hat.
Police have released a sketch of the suspect.
