NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Ed Burns is the “Charlie Hustle” of Hollywood.
He acts, writes, produces and directs.
His latest work, “The Fitzgerald Family Christmas,” debuted last week to rave reviews.
The film is about one expansive Irish family’s fraught Christmas, when the long-absent patriarch declares his intention to come home for the holidays, opening deeply buried anger and bitterness in the family he had walked out on twenty years ago.
“The movie has plenty of laughs,” Burns said on The Couch. “But it has to do with seven adult siblings who have to deal with the fact that their father, who walked out on the family 20 years ago, is back and wants to spend Christmas with them. So in that, you can imagine, there are some laughs, but there are also some heavier scenes. ”
